Jiang Jiandong
Dr. Jian-Dong Jiang, received his MD degree in the Fudan University Shanghai School of Medicine. He spent many years in the Department of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and came back to China in 1999, working at CAMS & PUMC in Beijing. Dr. Jiang is currently the president of the Institutes of Pharmaceutical Sciences, CAMS / PUMC, vice president of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has two outstanding contributions, Chinese herbal compound Berberine in the treatment of metabolism-related chronic diseases and Chinese patent medicines Azvudine & Carrimycin against SARS-CoV-2. Three accomplishments have been translated into clinical use. He has received three National Awards in China and two International Awards for his contributions in drug discovery. Also, he serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B since 2011.
