Colliding with the Future of Scientific and Technical Journals in the Era of Big Data

More than 350 years ago, scientific and technical journals were born as a new type of publication, taking up the historical mission of promoting academic communication and scientific research. Nowadays, the development of scientific and technical journals remains unchanged and their mission remains unchanged. In order to better inherit this mission in the era of big data, S&T journals are constantly upgrading communication tools, improving content quality, and enhancing innovation capabilities.
The 3rd China Science and Technology Summit-World Forum for Science and Technology Journals will be held in Beijing on August 11-12. Against the backdrop of the big data era, the forum will discuss the new mission for the future development of science and technology journals.
With a global perspective, the forum will explore new trends in global science and technology publishing and scholarly communication; service capabilities of science and technology journals driven by big data and other technologies; practical examples and critical paths of integrating Chinese science and technology journals into the global innovation network; essential elements for maintaining excellence in the changing ecosystem of science and technology journals; and the significance of innovation and development of scholarly publishing to actively promote science and technology research and development.
